Itinerary
Day 1 — Tangier to Chefchaouen
We climb into the Rif via Tetouan, arriving in Chefchaouen in the early afternoon.
Day 2 — Chefchaouen to Fes via Volubilis
A morning in Chefchaouen before we head south to Volubilis, then on to Fes for the night.
Day 3 — Fes
A full day with a local guide in the medina: the tanneries, the Al Qarawiyyin mosque and university, and the surrounding souks.
Day 4 — Fes to Merzouga
We cross the Middle Atlas through Ifrane's cedar forest and the Ziz Valley to Erg Chebbi, riding camels into the dunes for sunset and a night at a desert camp.
Day 5 — Merzouga to Ouarzazate
Sunrise over the dunes, then west through the Todra Gorge and the Dades Valley to Ouarzazate for the night.
Day 6 — Ouarzazate to Marrakech
A visit to Ait Ben Haddou before we cross the High Atlas by the Tizi n'Tichka pass to Marrakech, with the afternoon free in the medina.
Day 7 — Marrakech to Essaouira
A relaxed drive west through argan groves to the walled port of Essaouira for the night.
Day 8 — Essaouira
A free morning by the sea — the fishing port, the woodworkers' souk or the beach — before your onward journey.
